Value engineering.

In order for our client to go ahead and spend his 700k$ we have to cut 120 from the budget. Take out some I/O. Remove concrete berm and stonhard on floor.
Cut sump pumps and all the extra piping and electrical which goes with it.

The flowmeters are very tricky. One as low as 1.5 cc/minute.

They will cost 6800 each. Wow.

Micromotion flow meters cost alot, but are bullet proof reliable and accurate.

GE Controller Came in, Still not the solution

We replaced

Controller
HMI Panel
Cable
Net Interface Module on I/O.

The only thing we didn't replace was the power supply. The panel was using 100% of P.S. capacity. We reduced the load to 1 module, and still won't communicate.

Magically it started up, got alot of I/O checked out, VFD's run up and down. Then it stopped again.

We have new Power Supply coming tomorrow. Maybe that will work?

--  Update

Power Supply didn't change anything.

Finally we changed Communcation to a Ethernet Comm head.

Now everything works just fine.   There must have been a problem with the comm module.

New GE Controler is In

Trying it out this morning. Let's hope it works. We had comm problems.

The GE Quickpanel Control is pretty nice. Defined function blocks, integrated HMI. Single Development Package.

Large Ross Mixer. We installed a data collection system to record:

Temperature
Pressure (And Vac)
RPM and Power to Anchor
RPM and Power to High Speed Disperser Agitator
And Simple Web Page HMI to relate this data back to Batch ID.

All electrical and controls work done in CL1 DIV1 electrical environment with Intrinsically Safe Sensors.
